Naked-Living with Ancient Brit
Life Drawing
Life-modelling
I have recently started modelling for life-drawing classes.
I started with a private session with experienced life-model Alan
Carter who gave me some advice and practise at holding poses. The
sketch on the left is one of the sketches he made at the session.
My first public session was at evening class for beginners. It was
a fun evening with lots of chat. I did four 30-minute poses during this
evening. Most of the artists were very inexperienced and their
sketches showed as they were still learning to sketch the body in
proportion, although there was one talented artist who seemed to
know what she was doing.
My second session was at the St.Edmunds Art Centre in
Salisbury. This was a regular session for experienced artists. This was
a much more serious session and al that could be heard was the sound
of pencil on paper. It started with a series of 1-minute poses, followed
by 5-minute poses, 10-minute poses and then a 20-minute pose to
finish.
This evening seemed to go well and they have already booked
me for four sessions in 2008. I have also got a booking with Ringwood
Art Society for January.
I am available to take bookings within reasonable
travelling distance of Salisbury for Jan-Mar and
Oct-Dec 2008, either for public or private sessions.

This was a 30-minute sketch done
by Alan Carter as a practice for me
prior to my first modelling session.

Obviously the artists normally keep all their sketches, but I have been given a few sketches of the 5-minute
poses by a member of the Salisbury art group.
